ACM

We have our next ACM meeting today, October 12, at 5PM in Davis
Auditorium(Wham 105). We will have a short meeting and then we will
start a movie. If you have any movies that you believe others would be
interested in seeing, please bring them with you.

Our next meeting is this Wednesday, October 5th, at 5PM in Davis
Auditorium(Wham 105).  This week two representatives from State Farm
will be attending our meeting to talk about summer internship
opportunities. A summer internship at State Farm is a great
opportunity to learn new things and would look great on your resume.
Please spread the word about this meeting!

After the presentation by the State Farm representatives, we will
continue our meeting with updates from the SIGs, important dates for
this month, and a presentation by Blake Burns.

Our next ACM meeting is today, September 28, at 5PM in Davis Auditorium(Wham 105). We will start the meeting with a presentation from several SIUIS representatives about their upcoming conference.  We have several topics that we need to discuss tonight including:

• Possible rescheduling/cancellation of this weekend’s LAN(Student Center is booked)
• SIG reports/status updates
• Discuss the upcoming trip to City Museum
• Competition opportunities

We will also start our technology presentations tonight with a presentation about server administration by our scheduling officer, Thomas Aschemann. If you are interested in a topic and would like to give a presentation, please send Kevin an email or talk to him at the meeting. Giving a presentation like this is a great way to improve your research and public speaking skills in an environment where you aren’t being graded.
