ACM's First Annual LAN PartyACM's first LAN party was a smashing success. The event looked bleak at first with only a few people who decided to register early and guarantee a spot, but within the first couple of hours of the event's kick-off it was apparent the LAN party was going to be a hit. Bringing together close to 30 gamers of all genre's, some coming from as far as Alabama, the day was filled with fragging and strategizing. Though a few decided not to participate in the official tournament to decide who would walk home with first, second, and third prizes there was plenty of competition to go around. The first prize winner would walk away with an ASUS Vento PC case donated by the organization's president Lucas Utterback, second prize and third prizes were nifty swank, including t-shirts and decals, donated by the LAN party's official sponsor, NVIDIA. Second place also received the events honorary mascot for the day. For more pictures check out the picture page under the news category. Thanks to all who participated in the event and our supporters. A big thanks also goes out to Mike Shelton and the SIUC IT team for their help with networking solutions and support. We look forward to seeing everyone back again at the next LAN party and then some too. 06 March 2006
